Subtle songs of spring-
tendrils of ice returning
homewards as water
===============
In palpable mists
of the early morning dew
I can taste freedom
===============
Glades of green embrace-
seated at the world`s altar
the ant`s horizon
===============
Mother of the rain
although your gift is bitter
your honey is sweet
===============
Fields of spoken word-
fruits of the earth, give me strength
by which to share you
===============
Thanks to Daniel Hansen, past EYA intern, for sharing these haikus he wrote this spring.
