Fabulous Fiber at Means of Production Garden

On August 10th our volunteer group met again at the Means of Production Garden. This time we had fun harvesting various types of fiber plants that will be dried, woven, threaded, and spun into pieces of art! We harvested iris leaves, lily leaves, and agave leaves. We then bundled the plants and bound them in their own leaves, just like rope!

We spent the rest of the afternoon clearing pathways around the willow and bamboo, and were startled to discover a gigantic snake!!!

By the end of the day, we couldn't believe how much we had gotten done in such a short amount of time. It was bitter sweet ending to our garden party, as it was the last session for our lovely volunteer coordinator, Claire Broughton. Thank you Claire for all your hard work, you will be greatly missed by all of us!
